Just because its the best path... doesn't mean its the easiest. It can be hard to, "Do the right thing" sometimes.... especially in the area of women and dating. Abstaining from lusting, sex, etc is a, "BATTLE" as some have suggested. HOWEVER, it does pay off in the end. Nobody said we have to be perfect, but we do need to try. Recognize that by disobeying God it is affecting our intimacy with Him. With that realization it is, "Easier" or perhaps it gives us the MOTIVATION to win the battle for sexual purity more times than not. The irony is... when you become a man of God you become INSANELY attractive to women. Which can make it even MORE difficult to abstain from being a lusty beast, ("Yeah baby" - Austin Powers) but remember THE PURPOSE behind it. Also remember that you can enjoy all those pleasures within the right context.
Following God pays off in so many ways. I read today that, "The greatest tragedy is not death, but life without purpose." (Rick Warren from the Purpose Driven Life... BUY THAT BOOK BY THE WAY!) Profound isn't it? When will people be tired of living MEANINGLESS lives? I thought I was living a life of purpose... but I wasn't. It was temporary purpose... and when I got tired of it... I was lost. I and everyone else needs REAL LASTING PURPOSE. That can only be found in God.
David D always said that a, "Man needs a purpose". What other purpose can there be than from God? "Unless you assume a God, the question of life's purpose is meaningless." - Bertrand Russell, atheist.
So yes this Christian thing can be hard... but ITS EXCITING... IT EVOKES PASSION AND MEANING... its a MISSION! Thats what men NEED! And women want to follow a, "Man on a mission for God". I can't think of anything more exciting! Good day to be alive... and I appreciate you guys here on the forum!
